Delrin: Brand and Acetal Grade Selection
Delrin is a brand of acetal homopolymer, not the name of every acetal material. Material reference.
Brand and Acetal Grade Selection
For a drawing that specifies Delrin, decide whether the brand and exact grade are mandatory or whether a technically reviewed POM-H alternative is allowed. POM-C is a copolymer and should not be supplied under an unqualified Delrin description.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Ask for the resin or stock manufacturer's complete designation, additives and colour. Identify the wear, fit or snap-action requirement that controls selection. For machined stock, request stock-shape documentation rather than assuming an injection-moulding resin sheet describes the finished blank. Approve substitutions in writing before manufacture.
