CFRP: Specifying the Cured Laminate
CFRP is carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer: both reinforcement and matrix contribute to the finished material system. Material reference.
Specifying the Cured Laminate
For a structural plate or shell, specify the layup and load paths before comparing fibre names. A unidirectional coupon, woven sheet and quasi-isotropic laminate cannot share one strength value. Compare the completed laminate and joints rather than fibre tensile strength alone.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Supply ply schedule, fibre and resin grades, thickness, cure route and orientation relative to the drawing. Define holes, bonded joints, edge finish and defect acceptance. Ask for representative laminate or component tests and retain manufacturing records so a repeat part uses the qualified construction.

Reference and scope
Toray: fibre and prepreg data sheets, including product suffixes provides material or specification background. The checks above are purchasing guidance; final acceptance values must come from the agreed grade, product specification and condition.
Send a drawing and material requirements for review. Include quantity, critical dimensions and the inspection evidence required with delivery.
