TPU Elastomer: Polyether or Polyester Compound
TPU is thermoplastic polyurethane; commercial products include polyether-based and polyester-based grades. Material reference.
Polyether or Polyester Compound
For a moulded wear or flexible part, compare the exact compound against moisture, fluids and mechanical loading. A printed TPU part needs a separate process assessment. Do not assume equal Shore hardness means equal abrasion, recovery or environmental performance.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Specify manufacturer, full grade, hardness method and moulding or machining route. Define contact surface, load, motion and exposure. Test the completed geometry after relevant conditioning and document the accepted grade; compare a printed prototype with production parts only for the functions it actually represents.
