For a drawing requiring Grade 23, preserve the exact product and application specification. The ELI designation does not itself approve a finished implant or qualify its manufacturing process. Compare Grade 5 only through the required chemistry, condition, mechanical tests and customer approvals.

Manufacturing and acceptance checks

Request the full certificate, heat traceability and treatment records. Identify critical surfaces and inspection after the complete manufacturing sequence. If the component is supplied to a qualified programme, agree the required process controls and documentation before quotation rather than adding them after machining.
