For a visible sheet component, compare appearance, forming and exposure requirements with an austenitic alternative. Magnet response alone is not an adequate incoming material identification method. A matching polish does not prove that a different stainless grade meets the same service requirement.

Manufacturing and acceptance checks

Specify the sheet finish, thickness, grain direction and visible-face protection. Agree a formed appearance sample where cosmetic consistency matters. Include joining details and final cleaning in the process review, and inspect the component after forming rather than accepting a flat sheet finish as the finished-part standard.
