SUS304: General Fabrication and Exposure
SUS304 is an austenitic stainless-steel designation. Material reference.
General Fabrication and Exposure
Use it as a starting point for a general enclosure or bracket review, then check the actual environment and fabrication details. A familiar grade name should not replace evaluation of cleaning chemicals, chlorides or crevices. Compare SUS304L when the purchasing question specifically concerns a welded component.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
State the complete specification, product thickness, surface finish and weld requirements. Identify visible surfaces and the final cleaning treatment. For machined assemblies, define fit and surface roughness independently of the sheet or bar finish; accept the finished part against those drawing requirements.
