SUS201: Formed Components and Material Identification
SUS201 is an austenitic stainless-steel designation. Material reference.
Formed Components and Material Identification
For a formed cover or decorative component, define the actual exposure and finishing requirements before comparing a lower-cost offer with SUS304. Appearance alone cannot identify the grade or establish corrosion suitability. A polished sample should be assessed separately from the proposed production certificate.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
State the governing JIS product standard, thickness, surface finish and forming operation. Request lot chemistry and agree a finish sample for visible surfaces. Include the cleaning agents and exposure conditions in the enquiry; evaluate the finished component after forming and joining rather than relying only on a flat stock sample.
