For a fluid-contact fitting, describe the fluid, concentration, temperature and cleaning cycle instead of specifying marine grade as a guarantee. Crevices and stagnant zones need explicit consideration. Compare SUS316L for welded fabrication and duplex 2205 where the service review calls for another family.

Manufacturing and acceptance checks

Specify the bar or plate standard, traceability and required surface finish. Define sealing-face roughness, burr control and cleanliness separately from alloy selection. Obtain evidence for the actual environment and final fabrication condition; a generic stainless certificate does not qualify the complete assembly.
