When a supplier offers SUS202 against SUS201 or SUS304, compare the certificates and application requirements explicitly. Do not combine these grades into a single interchangeable stainless option. For a fabricated enclosure, the formed and welded surfaces need the same service review as the base sheet.

Manufacturing and acceptance checks

Supply the full grade, product form, finish and environment. Ask for confirmation of the material actually stocked and the identification method used for cut pieces. Approve surface appearance and assembly fit on a first article, with substitutions recorded before production rather than discovered at final inspection.
