Silicone Rubber: Formulation and Seal Geometry
Silicone rubber includes multiple formulations, hardnesses and curing systems. Material reference.
Formulation and Seal Geometry
For a gasket, compare the actual compound with the required temperature, fluid exposure and compression. General silicone identity does not establish food-contact or medical suitability. For a soft prototype, do not assume a flexible printing resin represents the same material behaviour.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request the exact compound, cure and post-cure requirements. Define groove or joint geometry, squeeze and leakage acceptance. Evaluate recovery and sealing after the intended exposure, and obtain documentation for the specific application if required rather than assigning approvals to the silicone family as a whole.

Reference and scope
Parker: elastomer families and compound compatibility handbook provides material or specification background. The checks above are purchasing guidance; final acceptance values must come from the agreed grade, product specification and condition.
Send a drawing and material requirements for review. Include quantity, critical dimensions and the inspection evidence required with delivery.
