Medical Silicone: Intended Use and Finished-Device Evidence
Medical silicone refers to application-specific materials and supporting documentation, not a blanket approval for every silicone component. Material reference.
Intended Use and Finished-Device Evidence
Start with the intended contact, duration, device function and sterilization process. A raw-material claim cannot qualify all finished geometries or manufacturing residues. Compare only materials whose supplier documentation addresses the proposed use and processing route.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request the exact material grade and current technical and application documentation. Define cure, post-cure, cleaning, sterilization and traceability. The responsible device programme should establish and verify finished-device acceptance; preserve the qualified formulation and process rather than substituting a visually similar silicone after testing.

Reference and scope
Dow: application policies and product-safety documentation provides material or specification background. The checks above are purchasing guidance; final acceptance values must come from the agreed grade, product specification and condition.
Send a drawing and material requirements for review. Include quantity, critical dimensions and the inspection evidence required with delivery.
