Q275: Strength Versus Forming Tradeoffs
Q275 is a grade designation in the Chinese carbon-structural-steel family. Material reference.
Strength Versus Forming Tradeoffs
For a bracket redesigned from Q235, do not assume a material change alone permits a thinner section. Review bending, local buckling, fastening and deflection alongside the required strength. Fabrication and inspection should reflect the revised geometry rather than only the new stock name.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Confirm the full grade and delivery standard, thickness-dependent requirements and bend geometry. Request first-article checks of springback and hole alignment. State any weld and coating requirements separately, and verify that the supplied certificate covers the actual product form being used.
