PVC: Rigid Versus Flexible PVC
PVC is polyvinyl chloride; rigid and plasticized flexible formulations need separate selection. Material reference.
Rigid Versus Flexible PVC
Establish whether the component must hold a machined shape or flex during assembly. Do not use rigid-sheet properties for a flexible cover or assume a flexible formulation meets the same chemical, fire or migration requirements as another PVC product.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Specify the formulation type, supplier grade and product form. Define the process, environment and required compliance documentation for the particular use. Compare a rigid and flexible option through different acceptance tests: dimensional and load checks for the former, fit and recovery checks for the latter.

Reference and scope
Ensinger: thermoplastic material families provides material or specification background. The checks above are purchasing guidance; final acceptance values must come from the agreed grade, product specification and condition.
Send a drawing and material requirements for review. Include quantity, critical dimensions and the inspection evidence required with delivery.
