PLA 3D Printing: Models and Service Temperature
PLA is polylactic acid; filament products can contain grade-specific modifications. Material reference.
Models and Service Temperature
For a concept model, focus on geometry, surface and assembly checks. If the print will serve as a working fixture, specify temperature and sustained load before comparing it with PETG or ABS. The fact that a part prints cleanly does not establish that it will retain shape in service.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request the exact filament, including any plus or modified designation. Record orientation, walls and infill and define the purpose of the sample. Test the completed part under the intended temperature and load when functional use is required, with dimensions checked after that exposure.
