PETG 3D Printing: Functional Prints and Fit
PETG filament printing is a manufacturing route using an identified polyester formulation. It is not equivalent to thermoformed PETG sheet. Material reference.
Functional Prints and Fit
For a bracket or enclosure, compare the printed wall layout and orientation with ABS or PLA using the actual load and temperature. A successful room-temperature fit check should not be treated as proof of long-term loaded performance.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Specify filament product, colour, printer and build settings. Identify critical holes and whether they will be finished after printing. Define load duration and inspection temperature, and approve the finished sample with the intended fasteners and mating parts rather than evaluating only the unassembled print.
