PET Flexible PCB: Polyester Circuit Construction
PET film is used in printed and flexible electronics, but a PET circuit must be specified as a complete construction. Material reference.
Polyester Circuit Construction
Distinguish printed conductive inks from copper-on-film circuitry. Do not assume that a polyester circuit can use the same soldering or lamination process as a polyimide flex board. Select the attachment and assembly route together with the film and conductor.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request exact film, conductor, adhesive and protective layers. Define processing temperature, bending, connector geometry and required resistance. Approve a representative circuit after the complete assembly and environmental exposure, keeping material and process records separate from a generic PET-film datasheet.
