PET: Machined Polyester and Dimensional Fits
PET is polyethylene terephthalate; engineering stock shapes differ from PETG and packaging-film products. Material reference.
Machined Polyester and Dimensional Fits
For a machined guide or wear part, compare the actual stock grade with POM-C using load, mating surface and temperature. Do not use a bottle-resin or transparent-sheet datasheet as the design basis for a crystalline engineering stock shape.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request the stock manufacturer's complete grade, dimensions and any lubricating additives. Define fit, surface finish and the service environment. Inspect critical dimensions after the agreed machining sequence and evaluate sliding performance with the intended counterface and lubricant rather than an unrelated material comparison.

Reference and scope
Ensinger: PET engineering stock materials provides material or specification background. The checks above are purchasing guidance; final acceptance values must come from the agreed grade, product specification and condition.
Send a drawing and material requirements for review. Include quantity, critical dimensions and the inspection evidence required with delivery.
