For a flexible cap or liner, decide whether the function depends on stretch, sealing, chemical exposure or appearance. Do not select it from a generic polyethylene wear-property table. Compare alternatives using the actual wall geometry and assembly method rather than the resin family name.

Manufacturing and acceptance checks

Specify the exact grade, colour, thickness and process. Give the mating dimensions and acceptable installation and removal force. Define temperature and fluid exposure, and approve a finished sample for fit and recovery after repeated use; do not judge a flexible part only by its unassembled dimensions.
