Inconel 600: Heat and Corrosion Service
INCONEL 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy identified as UNS N06600. Material reference.
Heat and Corrosion Service
For a hot process component, distinguish oxidation resistance from the ability to carry load for the required life. Compare the actual atmosphere and thermal cycle with the material data. Do not substitute 625 solely because its number is higher or because both use the INCONEL name.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Specify the product standard, supplied condition, service temperature and load duration. Include weld details and final surface requirements. Ask for property evidence applicable to that form and condition, and define acceptance of dimensional change or surface attack during any representative service trial.
