G11: Elevated-Temperature Laminate Selection
G-11 is a glass-epoxy laminate grade category distinct from G-10 and FR-4. Material reference.
Elevated-Temperature Laminate Selection
For an insulating support exposed to heat, compare the actual supplier grade at the relevant temperature and load duration. A laminate category or room-temperature flexural value is not a universal service limit. Also distinguish mechanical stock from copper-clad PCB material.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Specify the product standard, manufacturer grade, thickness and orientation. Define load, temperature, electrical requirement and exposure time. Ask for relevant condition-specific data and inspect the machined edges and holes, with representative testing of the completed support where the application requires it.
