For a machined insulator, compare the specified laminate standard and stock thickness with the electrical and mechanical requirements. A decorative knife-handle product and an electrical insulation sheet may share a familiar name without the same application documentation.

Manufacturing and acceptance checks

Request the exact manufacturer's grade and specification. Identify laminate orientation, drilled holes, edge finish and electrical clearances. Define testing in the relevant moisture and temperature conditions, and approve the finished part with any coating or bonded insert included in the evaluation.
