Aluminum 6060: Extrusions and Profile Tolerances
6060 is a heat-treatable aluminium extrusion alloy. Material reference.
Extrusions and Profile Tolerances
For a profile-based assembly, review section geometry, extrusion tolerances and final machining together. A machined datum does not make every unmachined wall equally precise. Compare the profile route with fabrication from sheet only after considering tooling, quantity and finish consistency.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Specify the extrusion standard, temper, wall dimensions and straightness. Mark machined and as-extruded surfaces separately on the drawing. Request an anodized sample where appearance matters, and agree datum inspection after cutting and machining so twist or bow does not remain hidden by the fixture.

Reference and scope
Hydro: aluminium extrusion alloy selection provides material or specification background. The checks above are purchasing guidance; final acceptance values must come from the agreed grade, product specification and condition.
Send a drawing and material requirements for review. Include quantity, critical dimensions and the inspection evidence required with delivery.
