Aluminum 5005: Architectural Finish and Sheet Selection
5005 is an aluminium-magnesium alloy. Material reference.
Architectural Finish and Sheet Selection
For a visible panel, start with the finish target and approved appearance sample. Material identity alone cannot guarantee a colour match after anodizing, particularly across different stock batches or fabrication routes. Compare the actual supplied sheet and finishing process rather than nominal alloy families.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Specify temper, thickness, visible faces and grain orientation. Request a finish sample from the proposed production stock and identify the acceptable colour and texture variation. Agree protective handling and inspect the panel after finishing; do not substitute another alloy based only on a similar mill finish.
