Aluminum 5754: Formed and Welded Sheet Parts
5754 belongs to the aluminium-magnesium alloy family. Material reference.
Formed and Welded Sheet Parts
For a formed sheet part, evaluate the proposed temper against the bend and joining sequence. Compare it with 5052 using the same thickness, finish and acceptance requirements, rather than assuming the two alloys are identical because both are in the 5xxx series.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Include the product standard, temper, bend direction and minimum radii. Identify surfaces that will be welded or coated. Agree first-article inspection of bends, seams and assembly fit, with cosmetic acceptance based on a completed sample instead of an untreated stock coupon.
