Aluminum 2011: Turned Parts and Finish Approval
2011 is an aluminium alloy associated with free-machining stock. Material reference.
Turned Parts and Finish Approval
For small turned components, evaluate machining, finish and material-compliance requirements together. A fast-cutting alloy is not automatically the right option for a welded assembly or a part requiring a tightly controlled decorative finish. Compare the whole route before accepting a stock substitution.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request the complete chemistry specification, temper and bar dimensions. Identify coating or anodizing requirements and approve a finished sample if appearance matters. Ask for substance declarations where the application requires them; do not infer compliance from the word aluminium or from another alloy's certificate.
