1075 Steel: Spring Strip and Edge Quality
1075 is a high-carbon steel designation, not a complete specification for a spring strip. Material reference.
Spring Strip and Edge Quality
Distinguish a ready-tempered strip component from a part formed soft and hardened later. The choice changes blanking, bend allowances and inspection. Compare with 1095 using the required spring motion and edge durability rather than assuming that a larger grade number means a better spring.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Supply strip thickness, rolling direction, burr orientation and the finished edge requirement. Require traceability of the delivered temper; identify which flatness and spring-force measurements apply before and after repeated deflection. Agree a sample approval before committing the complete production batch.
