Zamak 7: Thin Features and Casting Trials
Zamak 7 is a zinc die-casting alloy designation. Material reference.
Thin Features and Casting Trials
For a casting with fine or thin features, establish whether the proposed tool and process can reproduce the geometry consistently. Do not select an alloy solely from a general fluidity claim; parting lines, vents, finishing and production variation still require a casting review.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Provide minimum wall details, cosmetic faces and the final finish. Ask the caster to identify critical fill areas and a sampling plan. Compare Zamak 3 on the same tooling concept, and approve dimensions and appearance on production-representative finished parts before releasing the batch.
