Titanium Grade 3: CP Grade and Formability Review
Grade 3 is a commercially pure titanium grade distinct from Grades 1, 2 and 4. Material reference.
CP Grade and Formability Review
For a design that calls for Grade 3, compare the complete mechanical and forming requirements before replacing it with a more commonly stocked grade. The substitution review should use the same product form, thickness and accepted condition.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
State the exact product specification and test requirements. Give the fabricator the bend geometry or machined load path and define final surface quality. Request first-article fit and dimensional checks after all processing, and document any approved grade change before ordering production stock.
