SBR: Pads and Repeated Loading
SBR is styrene-butadiene rubber. Material reference.
Pads and Repeated Loading
For a pad or buffer, define whether the function is abrasion, repeated compression or impact absorption. A rubber-family comparison is less useful than the response of the actual compound and geometry. Do not infer oil or weather suitability from a generic rubber description.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request the compound code, hardness and product form. State the contact surface, load rate, travel and environment. Test representative finished pads for the specified cycle and accepted permanent deformation, and compare alternatives using the same thickness and restraint rather than unlike sample blocks.
