PMMA: Optical Appearance and Fabrication
PMMA is polymethyl methacrylate, commonly called acrylic. Material reference.
Optical Appearance and Fabrication
For a transparent panel or light guide, decide whether optical finish, impact exposure or machining geometry is the dominant requirement. Compare with clear PC using the finished application rather than appearance alone. Cast and extruded acrylic stock should be identified separately in the quotation.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
State the sheet or block grade, production route, thickness and optical acceptance. Mark polished faces, edges and fastening holes. Approve a completed sample after machining, polishing and any bonding, with the intended cleaning and mounting conditions represented in the inspection.
