NBR: Oil-Seal Compound and Conditions
NBR is nitrile rubber, supplied as different formulated compounds. Material reference.
Oil-Seal Compound and Conditions
For an oil seal, identify the exact fluid, additives, temperature and motion before comparing a compound. A general oil-resistant label does not establish compatibility with every lubricant or fuel. Hardness alone is also insufficient to select an interchangeable replacement.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request the compound designation and relevant compatibility evidence. Define groove, squeeze, speed or pressure and any cold-start condition. Test representative finished seals after the required exposure and record leakage, dimensional change and recovery; keep the actual fluid specification with the qualification record.

Parker: elastomer families and compound compatibility handbook provides material or specification background. The checks above are purchasing guidance; final acceptance values must come from the agreed grade, product specification and condition.
Send a drawing and material requirements for review. Include quantity, critical dimensions and the inspection evidence required with delivery.
