For an aggressive process environment, compare the actual fluid, temperature and crevice geometry with the proposed material's documented performance. A grade described as super duplex does not make every seawater or chemical application suitable. Assess joining and inspection capability alongside stock availability.

Manufacturing and acceptance checks

Specify the exact grade and product standard, welding procedure and final surface condition. Ask which corrosion and microstructure tests the application requires and whether they represent welded areas. Compare with 2205 only using the same service assumptions and record the engineering basis for the selection.
