C510 Bronze: Spring Contacts and Temper
C51000 is a phosphor-bronze designation. Material reference.
Spring Contacts and Temper
For a spring contact, balance the required force, deflection and electrical behaviour using the actual strip temper and geometry. A nominal alloy comparison with C51900 or C52100 cannot replace the contact design, and a harder strip is not automatically a better choice for a tight bend.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
State strip thickness, temper, rolling direction, bend details and any plating. Define force at a stated deflection and resistance at a stated contact condition. Test representative finished contacts after forming and plating, retaining the coil identity and any treatment records.
