C101 Copper: Resolving C101 and OFE Copper
Under the UNS system, C10100 denotes oxygen-free electronic copper. A short C101 label needs its naming system confirmed. Material reference.
Resolving C101 and OFE Copper
For a vacuum, electrical or joining application, obtain the complete designation before comparing a supplier's C101 offer with C10200 or C11000. A three-digit commercial code can mean something different in another national system. Do not approve stock from the shorthand alone.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Specify the full standard, oxygen-related requirements, conductivity and product form. Include joining atmosphere and cleanliness where relevant. Ask for a lot certificate and define the final contact or sealing finish separately from the purity requirement; preserve identification after cutting stock into blanks.
