AZ80A Magnesium: Forged Parts and Treatment Condition
AZ80A is a magnesium-alloy designation used in wrought-product enquiries. Material reference.
Forged Parts and Treatment Condition
For a forged or machined component, make the supplied and final condition explicit. A comparison with AZ61A should represent equivalent product forms and inspection directions, not the highest advertised value for each alloy.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Ask for the governing product specification, treatment condition and grain-flow requirements where relevant. Include coating, mating-metal contact and dimensional datums. Agree first-article inspection after the final treatment and machining sequence, with stock traceability preserved through any outsourced process. Mark the inspection direction on the forging drawing.
