SUS309: Furnace Parts and Complete Designations
SUS309 is a heat-resistant austenitic stainless designation; confirm whether the specification actually calls for 309 or 309S. Material reference.
Furnace Parts and Complete Designations
For a furnace component, define the atmosphere, peak and normal temperatures and thermal cycling. Do not select a grade only by an advertised maximum temperature: load, oxidation, creep and attachment details can impose different limits.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Include the complete suffix, product form and thickness in the RFQ. Ask for a review of welds, supports and differential expansion. Compare SUS310 using the same atmosphere and life target, and agree which deformation or surface deterioration ends the component's acceptable service.
