PEI 1000: Unreinforced PEI and Stock Grades
ULTEM 1000 is an unreinforced polyetherimide resin designation. A PEI 1000 stock offer should identify its manufacturer and grade. Material reference.
Unreinforced PEI and Stock Grades
For a machined insulator, distinguish the resin's published data from the properties and documentation of the purchased stock shape. Compare with reinforced PEI when stiffness or dimensional behaviour is the reason for the change, not simply because the grade number is larger.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Request the full stock designation, colour and traceability. Define electrical, temperature and load conditions and any specific listing required by the application. Inspect the finished geometry and obtain evidence applicable to the proposed grade and thickness rather than assigning every PEI product the same approvals.

Reference and scope
SABIC: ULTEM grade identities and documentation provides material or specification background. The checks above are purchasing guidance; final acceptance values must come from the agreed grade, product specification and condition.
Send a drawing and material requirements for review. Include quantity, critical dimensions and the inspection evidence required with delivery.
