H59 Brass: Chinese Brass Designations
H59 is a Chinese brass designation; the governing standard is needed to establish its complete composition limits. Material reference.
Chinese Brass Designations
For a machined or formed component, do not translate H59 directly into a nearby UNS brass code by nominal copper content. Also distinguish H59 from leaded HPb grades, which are separate purchasing descriptions. Resolve the actual alloy before using a machining comparison.
Manufacturing and acceptance checks
Ask for the complete grade under the specified standard, stock form and delivery condition. Identify the machining, joining and finish requirements. Request a certificate including controlled residual elements and agree any substitution against the complete drawing and application requirements.
